The Traveling Music Studio
private voice and piano lessons from the comfort of your home
Hello! My name is Courtney McMullin. I am the Founder and Operator of 'The Traveling Music Studio'.
But what is The Traveling Music Studio you may ask?
It means I come to YOU. Where you are, that's where I'll teach! I come to you to eliminate the stress of planning your day around lessons.
I have been singing and performing my whole life. I have almost 20 years of experience playing the piano and reading music. As well as over a decade worth of experience teaching and taking professional voice lessons.
I can't wait to share with you what I've learned!
I graduated from Southern Utah University with a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance where I created, produced, and performed a one-woman show titled Who I Am. With the help of some incredible collaborators, I was able to take my show to NYC and perform off-Broadway at Theatre Row for several esteemed vocal coaches and directors.
In 2018 I had the wonderful experience of participating in the Utah Shakespeare Fellowship Program, where I created and performed original vocal compositions for The Merchant of Venice.
Since then I have performed all over the Midwest and in several cities on the East Coast.
I am currently in Northern Utah, where I am continuing my vocal performance study, via Zoom, with NYC's own Diane Tauser.
This coming fall I will be joining the Salem Hills High School artistic team as Music Director for their theatre program, under Zac Trotter. In addition to running my own vocal studio, I also serve as the Artistic Associate for Iron Stage Theatricals.
Networking, collaborating, and community building makes up important pieces of who I am as an artist. Theatre is my life-blood. It holds me accountable for my human nature and allows me to grow and to actively take part in the world around me. I believe that theatre gives people the ability to express and experience life in a way that, in turn, gives freedom and inspiration throughout all aspects of our lives.
I have been playing the piano for almost 20 years and teaching professionally for 4.
I was trained in classical, contemporary, and religious music, and also enjoy composing my own pieces.
In addition to playing for my own enjoyment, and teaching what I know to others, I have been an accompanist for 10 years and have worked as Musical Director for several Musical Theatre Productions.
I have also served as an accompanist for High School Solo and Ensemble competitions, and several High School choirs.
